10 Facts About Me

1) allergic to cats and dogs (and slightly pollen)

Sadly! I love animals and I love snuggling with cats and dogs of friends but my reaction to the fur is really uncomfortable. I know that I am not allergic to all dog breeds like poodles but I had a reaction to every cat I met so far. That is why the only pet I ever had was a hamster. But I loved it with all my heart teenage-Julia could! I don’t know why I have so many allergies since I was a kid that ate dirt…

 2) I’m soo bad at sports

I feel like I am cursed in the sports department. As long as I can remember, I hated sports and I was terrible at it. Starting in first grade, I felt almost harassed by my P.E. teachers. Why can’t they understand that some kids are good at sports and some are just not good?! The same with math. But noooo everybody has to be good at sports and it is just your attitude that is hindering you -.-

I was always the tall, thin and unathletic girl in class. I was always last, jumped 1m, always the slowest, couldn’t do a handstand but you know what, in the end it doesn’t matter. Now I do sports that I like.

3) my hair is always damaged

What is up with my hair?! Why is it so difficult to have healthy hair?! It is still a mystery to me…

4) not good at focusing

I don’t know if it’s because of the distraction by smartphone and internet, but the amount of time I can focus on a task has reduced drastically! I think I need to go on a “distraction-diet” and learn how to focus again…

5) good at learning languages

I can speak German (mother tongue), English, Russian and Mandarin. I was always one of the best students in language class. Learning a language was always easy. I usually don’t know much about grammar, I rather “hear” what is right and what’s wrong. I know that I’m not always right with my “hearing” method, but so far I’m good.

If you are interested, I could write a post with studying tips regarding learning languages or general study tips. Just leave a comment and let me know.

6) I always goof-sing

I sing all day long. Sadly, not very good… That’s why I call it goof-singing. I have a tune in my head of a catchy song and just text my own (funny) lyrics to it. It gets more hilarious if my boyfriend jumps in. We always parody songs together.

7) I’m pessimistic

Since I can think, I am a pessimistic person and I really want to change that. My boyfriend is a quite positive and optimistic person. He often tells me: “Why do you worry so much? Everything will be ok.” I will talk about my pessimism in separate post and go more in detail but so far I just want to say that I work on becoming more optimistic.

8) I hate new things / spontaneity

I don’t know if hate is the right word. Maybe fear? Besides my pessimism, my fear of new things is definitely something I have to work on.

9) I rarely eat meat

I am not a vegetarian, in fact, I was a vegetarian for about 5 years when I was a teenager. Truth is, I was not a vegetarian because of ethical reason but because I just don’t like the consistency and taste of meat. It is so disgusting to me! There is some meat I like, for example salami on bread or pizza, but other than that I don’t eat meat.

10) mushy cereal

I just eat my cereal if it’s almost dissolved in the milk. I don’t know why but crunchy cereal is not delicious.

  3. Russian and Mandarin 🙂 WOW!
ansonsten bin ich dir ein wenig ähnlich…
Ich bin genauso unsportlich,- I was always the tall, thin and unathletic girl in class.

    • Mich interessieren asiatische Sprachen sehr.
